New York Commercial Window Film Installation Process

A high-quality window film installation requires more than just using the proper film. It’s also about technique. That’s why we always put forth our best effort when installing window film, whether it’s for your New York City office, school, or commercial building. We follow a particular process for every installation. We believe that this process allows us to do our job more accurately and thoroughly and provides our clients with a better experience and results that last longer.

Step 1: Consultation
We begin every project by first conducting an onsite consultation. During a consultation, we meet with you to discuss your goals, learn about your aesthetic preferences, and explain the available window tinting options. During this time, we may also conduct a brief inspection and take site measurements to help us prepare for the installation day. Once you have decided whether they want to proceed with the project, we will schedule an appointment for the installation day.

Step 2: Preparation
To expedite the installation process, we prepare all materials in-house beforehand. This helps streamline the installation and keeps our services more eco-friendly since fewer materials are wasted when the film is precut. Using a high-powered plotter, we cut all the film based on the site measurements we had previously taken.

Step 3: Installation
During the day of your appointment, your project manager will meet you onsite to briefly discuss the specifics of the installation so that you know what to expect regarding the actual work being done on your building and a general timeline of when it will be completed. Then, we cleaned all the glass and applied a C-bond as a priming agent.* Any excess primer is removed using a squeegee, and the glass and window frame are cleaned again. The film is allowed to dry and set, and the installation is complete.

*Please note that C-Bond is an optional treatment but one that is highly recommended. Projects without a C-Bond may take longer for the film to dry and achieve complete clarity.

Why We Use C-Bond

We use C-Bond to expedite the installation process and protect the film once it has been set. Traditional techniques of using soap and water do nothing to improve the film’s performance, but C-Bond is different. C-Bond is a unique priming agent because it alters glass at the molecular level, making it stronger and more resistant to shattering from rocks, flying debris, golf balls, and other damaging objects. We recommend C-Bond as an added measure to protect your investment in new window film.
